ELICOS Course Design and Development

Patrick Hayeck
Compliance and Audit compliance

I have a proven track record having designed and developed a number of ELICOS courses all of which have successfully been accredited by Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA). I have created several curricula for various needs and purposes be it General English, English for Academic Purposes, Pronunciation and Fluency, or English Language Proficiency Exam Preparation courses such IELTS, Cambridge etc. The process of ELICOS Course Design and Development consists of 3 stages:

ELICOS, VET or Higher Education consultation

Stage 1 is consultation and discussion to determine the type of course your college requires based on its target audience and business goals and marketing plans. Other important details to decide on are course duration, levels etc.

Curriculum development

Stage 2 is the actual development of the curriculum including writing the syllabus using ASQA’s Course Design template. If the course is intended to be used as a study pathway into higher education courses, it must be submitted to Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA).

CRICOS Accreditation

Stage 3 is submitting the application including a full curriculum and a complete syllabus as well as all supporting documents to ASQA such as sample certificate for full and partial completion of the course, list of resources required for the course, and more.
