Katakana For Better English Pronunciation

Yes Yes I know, you think it’s impossible right? We all know, for many Japanese English learners, Katakana is the source of a lot of misery in learning English but sometimes, just sometimes, you can use it for your advantage.

Let’s look at a simple example:

What are you doing on the weekend?

Okay, now if you are Japanese, I want you to break the sentence down as follows:

1-what are you=ワラヤ

2-doing

3-On the=オンア

4-weekend

Of course, it won’t sound natural if you say it slowly, but if you say the Katakana parts quickly, it will sound pretty smooth and more native-like.  Try it and see.
