Congratulations to the Imbeciles in the Labor Party: A Country in Decline

The Labor Party has now managed to preside over a country with the lowest living standards since 1959—an astonishing achievement in mismanagement. Let’s rewind to 13 January 2022, when the Liberal Party was still in power. COVID was still around, and Australia was experiencing a crippling labor shortage, particularly in hospitality and retail.

The Liberal Party’s Solution

Faced with an urgent need for workers, the Liberal Government made a bold move: they lifted work restrictions for international students, allowing them to work an unlimited number of hours. The message was clear: “We know you’re students, but we need you now. How about you put your studies on hold and save our economy instead?”

For international students—many from lower-income countries—this was like stumbling upon a golden opportunity. The word spread quickly: “Come to Australia, work unlimited hours, earn in dollars, and send money back home!” And they did. In droves.

The Labor Party’s Utter Incompetence

The Labor Government, ever clueless and asleep at the wheel, allowed this to continue unchecked until July 2023. Whether due to ignorance or willful negligence, they did nothing to curb the influx of so-called “non-genuine students”. The floodgates remained open.

Then, reality hit. By October 2023, inflation was still high, the housing crisis was worsening, and Australians were hurting. Meanwhile, the Liberal Party’s odds of winning the next election were rising. The Labor Government, desperate for a scapegoat, had to find someone to blame. But who?

The Scapegoat: Private Education Providers

Of course! Who better to blame than vocational colleges, English language schools, and private higher education providers?

The Labor Government conveniently forgot one tiny detail: it was they who created this problem in the first place. They incentivized thousands of non-genuine students to enter the country, work, and support their families abroad. What did they expect would happen?

But instead of taking responsibility, they pointed fingers at education providers, claiming that these institutions were failing to screen out non-genuine students.

A Government with Selective Amnesia

Labor’s hypocrisy knows no bounds. Let’s get one thing straight:

  • It is the government’s job to protect the integrity of the visa system—not education providers.
  • Schools do not have access to student bank records, government intelligence, or fraud detection tools.
  • Schools do not have the authority to determine if a visa applicant’s documents are legitimate.
  • Only the government has these capabilities—and they failed.

Genuine Students, We See You

Now, as a result of Labor’s desperate blame game, many genuine international students are having their visa applications denied without reason. To those students: we see you, we hear you, and we apologize.

Australia’s politicians are playing a cynical game, sacrificing the futures of bright, hardworking students just to win an election. And that, my friends, is the true tragedy.

Labor knows exactly what they’re doing—and it sucks.
